They appear along the paths, in the dust of a trail, on sun-warmed stone, in bark, damp earth, or the plants encountered along the way.<\/p>\n
For several years, I have been collecting these landscape impressions. Not to faithfully reproduce them, but to understand how a material can retain the memory of a place. <\/p>\n
Natural dyeing allows me to explore this relationship. Dyes settle into the fiber as time settles on territories. Nuances are slowly built, through immersion, superposition, or waiting. They tell as much about the gesture as the material that produced them. <\/p>\n
I like to observe these textiles as fragments of cartography. Gradients become horizons. Color variations evoke reliefs, erosion zones, or geological strata. <\/p>\n
Color is no longer just a surface.<\/p>\n
It becomes the trace of a journey, an encounter, and a landscape traversed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
